ISB-Ivey Case Writing Workshop 2013

Previous Workshops

According to Dr Ariff Kachra, Assistant Professor of Strategy and General Management at Richard Ivey School of Business and faculty instructor of the ISB-Ivey Case Writing Workshop, “In an age where graduates of MBA programs are being hired for their ability to solve complex problems and help the company successfully manage ambiguity, they are turning to their faculty for those skills.  Faculty, who have taken the opportunity to write different cases with the participation of senior managers see those skills at play and can share best practices with their students."

There is growing interest in the case method amongst Indian B-schools and this reinforces the need to share best practices about how to effectively write cases. Towards this end, the Centre for Teaching, Learning and Case Development at the Indian School of Business organizes several case writing and case teaching workshops round the year.

These workshops cover various elements of case selection, preparation, teaching notes, delivery, and evaluation as they apply to the case classroom. Participants range from writing enthusiasts to doctoral scholars to B-school faculty, who use the case method in their classrooms. The intent is to train high-potential faculty on the case writing and teaching process, and to develop a case teaching culture in Indian management schools.
