Tuhin Sen - Lead Strategist, Global Development Network
Tuhin Sen works as the Lead Strategist for the Global Development Network. He has sixteen years of experience in formulating and implementing strategies for organisations and brands across private and the social sector.

Tuhin was instrumental in the launch of Santro, which effectively launched Hyundai’s operations in India. He helped the UK High Commission in India promote its Public Diplomacy Initiative. He has also assisted the UNESCO in formulating its strategy for The Heritage Passport Programme in India.

Tuhin has worked as a consultant to the Public Governance and Territorial Development Directorate of the OECD in Paris on the Global Industrial Competitiveness Project across automotive, biotech and ICT sectors. For DFID, he has conceptualized and implemented a climate change communication strategy with a South Asian footprint. Prior to joining GDN, he has worked for global networks such as Saatchi & Saatchi, Lowe Worldwide and Leo Burnett. Tuhin holds an MPA from Sciences Po, Paris where he graduated Summa Cum Laude with Economic and Territorial Development as his specialisation.

Neeraj Bharadwaj, MD, Accel Partners, India
Neeraj joined Accel in 2009 and focuses on growth investing in India.

Prior to joining Accel, Neeraj was Managing Director/Country Head for Apax Partners in India, where he led the India operations. Preceding that he was a Partner with Apax in the U.S. focusing on telecom, software and IT services investing. Investments he has been involved with include Apollo Hospitals BSE: AHEL), Jamdat (NASDAQ: JMDT), Widerthan (NASDAQ: WTHN), NXP and others. Previously, Neeraj was an engagement manager at McKinsey & Co.

Neeraj was selected as a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum, is the Chairperson of the India Regional Agenda Council of the World Economic Forum, Charter Member of The Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE), Board Member of the Olympic Goldquest (OGQ) and Board Member of the Indian School of Business (ISB).

Day 2 Keynote Panel: "Catalysts of Change: Perspectives on initiating change and revolutionizing India."
Air Marshal AK Singh (Retired) has had a long and illustrious career with the Indian Air Force (IAF). He retired as Air Officer Commanding in Chief of an operational Command of the IAF. He has been awarded with many presidential and gallantry awards as well as the Mahatma Gandhi Service National award. He is currently Chairman of an international Military Advisory Council working towards a safer environment. We would like Air Marshal Singh to talk to students about some of the issues and challenges India faces with respect to the environment and the paramount importance environmental concerns should hold for decision makers going forward.


Ishan Manaktala, Managing Director and Head of Asia, Netik, is based in Bangalore and is responsible for managing Netik’s Information Service group in India and Netik’s operations in the Asian Pacific region. Manaktala was a director and the global head of analytics for Deutsche Bank’s equities unit in New York. Prior to that, he worked for Quantitative Solutions Group and Russell Investment Group. He holds a Master of Science degree in Finance from Bentley College, MA and a dual Master of Business Administration degree from Columbia Business School, New York and London Business School, UK. As a young CEO with a multicultural outlook, Ishan brings fresh new ideas into the way his company functions such as a creating a non-hierarchical, result-oriented structure and invoking a sense of ownership in every employee. We would like Ishan to talk to students about his vision for Corporate India going ahead and his perspective as someone educated and trained abroad.


Lt.Gen.Mehta, Member, Board of Management, United Service Institution of India and Former Deputy Military Adviser, United Nations Department for Peacekeeping Operation/India. Lt. Gen. Mehta will share with his experiences with the UN and give us a global perspective on the challenges that India faces in pursuing leadership in a multi-polar world.

Arijit Sarkar – Director, Online Sales at Google
As Director of Online Sales at Google, Arijit’s chief responsibilities include Operations, Sales, Key account management, solution delivery and project management primarily in the internet space panning search related advertising and recruitment management solutions.

Before Joining Google in February 2006 as an online sales and operations manager, Arijit was the General Manager of operations at Jobstreet.com - one of the leading Internet Recruitment websites in the Asia-Pacific – where he was responsible for Heading Business development for Application Tracking System Division, solution delivery and Customer care. Before Jobstreet.com, Arijit was the Area Sales manager for Blow Plast Limited – A young leading plastics industry player involved in the manufacture of products for use in the pharmaceuticals, paints, edible oil, cosmetic products, lubricants, chemicals and power industries.

Arijit is an avid wild life photographer (his most common subject of interest being bird photography). Arijit is an Alumnus of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies, where he majored in marketing and a BE – instrumentation from Jadhavpur University.

Bhavin Turakhia – Founder & CEO, Directi
Bhavin Turakhia is an Indian Internet entrepreneur, CEO and Founder of Directi, a web products company he started in 1998.

Directi is a technology conglomerate and the parent company of ResellerClub, LogicBoxes, Skenzo, CodeChef and WebHosting.

The company now operates out of its six offices, and is headquartered in Mumbai. Directi is amongst the leading technology companies in India and an active recruiter at all the premier engineering colleges and business schools across the country.

From founding Directi in 1998, Turakhia has grown the company to include six businesses, more than 20 products and more than 600 employees. He is a well-respected and influential figure in the Indian technology landscape and is a frequent speaker at various seminars, technology conferences and colleges.

Turakhia won the Bharti Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 2005. He was honoured as the “Young Global Leader” by the World Economic Forum in 2011.

Kirthiga Reddy - Director of Online Operations and Head of Office India, Facebook India
Kirthiga Reddy is the director of Online Operations and Head of Office India at Facebook India. In her current role, Reddy heads Facebook’s operations in India, supporting the company’s growing number of users, advertisers and developers worldwide who are capitalising on Facebook’s global service to foster relationships with people and reach out to new customers locally and internationally.

Prior to Facebook, Reddy was VP and GM of the Consumer Security business unit and India operations at Phoenix Technologies (NASDAQ: PTEC). She led a global team located in US, India, Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Before Phoenix, Reddy was with Motorola Good Technology for over six years. She was based out of Silicon Valley where she led global product management. She moved to India a year after Good Technology's acquisition by Motorola to lead the cross-functional Good India team. Reddy has also held the position of director of Engineering at Silicon Graphics and associate at Booz Allen Hamilton.

Reddy holds an MBA from Stanford University, where she graduated with top honours, an MS in Computer Engineering from Syracuse University and a BE in Computer Science from Ambedkar University, India. She is passionate about children’s causes and in developing women leaders. She was named  India Today’s top 25 influential Indian professional women of 2011 and Business Today’s  hottest young executives 2011.

Srinivasan Chandrasekar - Director of Program Management at Microsoft Corporation; Windows & Windows Live Division, Microsoft India Development Centre (MSIDC).

Chandrasekar has held several leadership and entrepreneurial roles in the technology industry for the past 17+ years.  In his current role, he oversees the Program Management track for the Windows & Windows Live Group at MSIDC, which engineers current and upcoming versions of Microsoft Windows.

Prior to this, Chandrasekar was the chief operating officer of Aztecsoft Ltd, where he was responsible for their business and operations in India across Hyderabad, Bangalore and Pune.  Prior to Aztecsoft, he was the senior vice president of Products at SumTotal Systems, where he was responsible for integrating diverse product suites of Click2learn and Docent, (which merged to form SumTotal Systems). During his tenure at Click2learn, he was the CTO/executive VP of Products & Strategy where he created the e-learning industry's first integrated suite offering. Chandrasekar also co-founded Intelliprep Technologies which was subsequently acquired by Click2learn. 

In an earlier seven-year stint with Microsoft, Chandrasekar was the development manager of the Meta Directory Server (later renamed the Identity Server) team and worked on Directory Synchronisation, Image Color Management (ICM), ADSI, LDAP, and the Postscript printer driver technologies.

Chandrasekar has a Masters in Computer Science from Colorado State University and a BTech in Computer Science from IIT Madras, India.

Pankaj Agrawal – Associate Director at Analysys Mason
Pankaj has extensive consulting, regulatory and operating experience in the TMT industry in India. He has a deep understanding of wireless and wireline investments, technology, and customer and market issues in the U.S. and Indian telecommunications market.
 
Prior to Analysys Mason, Pankaj was the Associate Director at BDA Connect and the Associate Vice President at Deloitte Consulting before that. He was also Deputy General Manager – Business Planning, Investment Evaluation and Pricing for the Mobile business at Bharti Airtel Ltd.

Richard Rekhy – COO, KMPG India
Prior to being appointed as chief operating officer at KPMG, India, Rekhy was the head of RAS Practice in KPMG from April 2004 to June 2006. With effect from July 2006, he was appointed to his current role.
Prior to joining KPMG, Rekhy was a partner in the Risk & Business Solutions (RABS) group at Ernt & Young (E&Y), Bangalore. Before joining EY, Rekhy was a partner with Arthur Andersen in the Assurance & Business Advisory practice. He has been the lead partner/ instructor at various international schools of training run by Andersen. Rekhy is a regular speaker at several public forums. His area of specialisation is enterprise risk management and corporate governance.
Rekhy specialises in the areas of corporate governance, enterprise risk management, internal audit and business processes. He has serviced clients across industry sectors – advertising, oil and gas, industrial and consumer markets, specifically in pharmaceuticals, technology, manufacturing and retail domains.

Shaurav Sen - Managing Director and Country Head, Corporate Executive Board
Shaurav Sen is currently managing director and country head for the Indian operations of the Corporate Executive Board.

Prior to joining the Corporate Executive Board, Sen was with Hindustan Unilever Limited (HUL) as part of their Corporate Planning and Business Research team where he served for almost four years, working out of their Mumbai and Bangalore offices.

Sen was the founder and CEO of OnScreen Interactive, a start-up internet advertising and employee communications platform based in Arlington, Virginia, funded by Draper Atlantic, targeting the online advertising space and B2B segment. Before his foray into entrepreneurship Sen held several management consulting positions with leading global advisory firms including the PA Consulting Group based in the UK, Hagler Bailly, and Apogee Research (both Apogee and Hagler Bailly were merged with PA Consulting during Sen’s tenure in these organisations).

He holds an undergraduate degree in Economics from Madras Christian College in India, and also received his MS in Applied Economics from Wisconsin, USA.

A K Shiva Kumar – Developmental Economist and Advisor to UNICEF, India
A.K. Shiva Kumar has over 30 years of experience in development policy analysis, public management, policy assessments and evaluation. He is Visiting Professor at the Indian School of Business in Hyderabad and teaches economics and public policy at the Harvard Kennedy School.

Shiva Kumar has been a regular contributor to UNDP’s Human Development Reports and, over the years, has been associated with the preparation of several national Human Development Reports.

Shiva Kumar serves as a member of the National Advisory Council, the Central Council of Health and Family Welfare and the Mission Steering Group of the National Rural Health Mission. He also serves on the Board of non-governmental organizations including the Public Health Foundation of India, the International Center for Research on Women, the Institute for Human Development, the Centre for Science and Environment and Sanskriti Foundation. Between 1986-93, he was Research Associate at Harvard’s Centre for Population and Development Studies and faculty member at the Harvard Kennedy School.
 
Srini Raju – Co-Founder and Chairman of Peepul Capital
Srini Raju is the Co-founder and Chairman of Peepul Capital (successor to iLabs Venture Capital Fund), aPrivate Equity (PE) firm based out of Hyderabad and Chennai. Peepul Capital LLC is an Institutional Investor that helps grow fundamentally stronger and better companies through its extensive operating and entrepreneurial experience. Peepul manages a corpus of approximately US$700 Million for growth-orientedinvestments that are India-centric. Besides funding and mentoring next generation entrepreneurs, he has played an active role in building educational institutions of higher learning. He is also a member of ISB’s board.

Mr Raju brings in significant experience in building technology solutions and utilising them to help fund education focused enterprises. We’d like to have him talk about whether technology is a solution to the issues that this segment faces and whether technology, coupled with education, can help transform the fortunes of both this segment and any firms that seek to grow with this population.

Rohit Bansal - CEO, India Strategy Group, Hammurabi & Solomon Consulting, LLP
Mr Bansal is an alum of Harvard Business School and St Stephen’s College. He is a British Chevening scholar and has undertaken professional programmes at University of Westminster, The Times Centre for Media Studies, and The European Journalism Centre, Maastricht. Rohit has been on the board of the News Broadcasters Association and has been Resident Editor of The Financial Express, New Delhi; Managing Editor (and later COO) of Independent News Service; Editor-Business, Zee News; Special Correspondent, Television 18; and Senior Business Correspondent, The Times of India.

Rohit, in collaboration with noted law firm Hammurabi & Solomon, advises CEOs across the spectrum of strategy, regulation, advocacy and the media. He serves as Treasurer of The Editors Guild of India and is on the board of a major hospital company and the entertainment arm of a leading media conglomerate. Rohit is a member of the World Editors Forum, Paris and ISG is media partner of the OECD Annual Forum. Vikram Kailas – MD, Mytrah Energy Ltd (Ex Caparo Energy)
Vikram Kailas is managing director of Mytrah Energy Limited.
Mytrah Energy is one of India's fastest growing independent power producers, with  a  focus  on  developing  wind  power  to  meet  the  increasing  demand  for power. It is also one of the first IPP’s to be established in the wind sector in India, to build utility scale projects.

Before joining the Group, Kailas worked in the power and utilities investment banking group at Credit Suisse in New York, where he was involved in a number of renewable energy transactions, including a US$ 6bn exit financing for Calpine and a  US$  300m  loan  for  First  Energy.  Prior  to  joining  Credit  Suisse,  Kailas worked for Deloitte Consulting in Hyderabad,  India.  He has  a  BTech in Mechanical Engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology, Madras, and an MBA from the Yale School of Management.

Sanjay Chakrabarti – Partner, Infrastructure, Industrial and Consumer, Ernst & Young
Sanjay Chakrabarti is the EY India Clean Technology Leader.   His responsibilities include giving strategic direction to the practice, managing the team and leading the marketing and business development initiatives.

Prior to this, he was the India Strategic Growth Markets leader; this involved developing E&Y’s business in strategic Indian  growth accounts. Before taking on this role, he was part of the tax  team for over 13 years, including two years in New York, where he  led the India desk. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Commerce and is a Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India.

Chakrabarti is a regular contributor to the International Tax Journal and a frequent speaker at India investment forums.  He has also been a guest lecturer at various schools such as NYU, Emory and SP Jain. Recently, he co-authored the E&Y report entitled “Conquering the Sun – Throwing light on solar energy and its prospects in India.”

Ravindra Utgikar - Head, Central Marketing, Suzlon Energy Ltd.
Sulzon is placed as Asia’s largest integrated wind turbine generator manufacturer, ranked 5th largest in the world. Ravindra has traveled extensively across the globe formulating and implementing ‘Go to Market’ & Business Strategies and forging strategic alliances. Ravindra’s professional background includes over twenty one years of field & corporate experience in product as well as project businesses, in the international and domestic environment.

As a sector expert he has addressed numerous professional forums at international trade fairs and industry events worldwide. Ravindra is co-convener of International Business Panel of CII Pune and also Convener of Intentional Marketing committee of Constro 2012. He had been an executive committee member of prestigious the Indo-American Chamber of Commerce, Pune chapter.

Ninad D - Principal Consultant, Energy & Utilities, Mahindra Satyam
Ninad is the Lead Consultant, Downstream Marketing and Retail (Oil and Gas) and has over 18 years of industry experience. He has extensively worked in project commissioning, terminal operations, installation maintenance, supply logistics, retail sales, network planning, marketing of fuels and non-fuels, selling technological products, implementation of ERP, HSSE, vendor management, liaison with regulatory and dealer management. He is currently building competency in the areas of SAP IS Oil, Energy trading and risk management, Carbon management solutions, EHS in Oil industry, Mobility and RFID Solutions, Pipelines in Oil & Gas landscape & the role of IT in Bio-fuels.

Prior to this, he was working with Essar Oil as the Deputy General Manager Operations. There he was responsible for commissioning of the facilities and making them operational. The facilities included a contemporary Oil and Gas Marketing Terminal having 62000 kl of Storage, 5 Tanker load rack, one Rail rack, Fire and Fire & safety Systems, DCS and field automation at Jamnagar.

Anay P Khare - Managing Director, Corporate Finance, Enam Securities
A Chartered Accountant and a Law graduate, Mr. Khare started his career in investment banking in the early nineties and has since participated in various facets of investment banking such as equity origination, debt syndication, M&A, corporate finance etc over the last 18 years.

Mr. Khare joined Enam Securities P Ltd, one of the leading Investment Bankers in the country in 2002 and is presently working as Managing Director-Corporate Finance. He has been played a critical role in the successful completion of more than 250 capital market transactions.

Usha Narayanan – Executive Director, SEBI
A postgraduate in Economics and Law, Smt. Usha Narayanan joined SEBI in the year 1991 and has held various senior positions in SEBI with all around experience of working in the Divisions of Primary Market, Takeover, FIIs, Investigation and Market Intermediaries Department.

In her position, she is responsible for overseeing policies relating to issuance of capital, disclosure in offer documents, continuous disclosures, listing requirements, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions and portfolio investment by foreign investors.

She has been recognized as one of the top 25 powerful women in Indian Business by Business World, one of India’s top selling business magazines and as one of the top 50 powerful women by the Financial Express, a leading Indian Business Daily.

Murali Talasila – Partner, KPMG Advisory
Talasila has an overall experience of around 15 years in the field of information technology with expertise in programs for digital forensic, electronic discovery and data analytics. He has led several engagements that involved collection, analysis and review of data from computers systems, networks and storage devices for investigating fraud related concerns. He has also worked in areas of network and systems, incident response, digital forensics and data leakage/ theft investigations.

Mr. Talasila has an M.Sc in Information Technology from the University of Liverpool.

R Mukundan – Managing Director, TATA Chemicals Limited
Mukundan joined Tata Administrative Service in 1990, after completing his MBA from FMS, Delhi University and BE-Electrical Engineering from IIT, Roorkee.   Prior to his current assignment  as  managing  director,  he  headed  the  Global  Chemicals  business  of  Tata Chemicals and has held responsibilities  such as chief operating officer of Chemicals Business (India) and head of Mithapur Chemical Complex.

During his 18-year career with Tata Group, he has held various responsibilities including strategy &  business  development,  corporate  quality,  corporate  planning,  projects,  etc across the Chemical, Automotive and Hospitality sectors of the Tata Group. Mr. Ramesh Srinivas is the Executive Director(Retail) at KPMG. Before joining KPMG, he was a partner at IBM and PWC Consulting.

Subu D Subramanian - MD and CEO, Defiance Technologies
Subu D Subramanian, MD and CEO of Defiance Technologies (a Hinduja Group of company) is an industry veteran in global scale Technology Services businesses. He pioneered the unique ERP Offshoring business model and built the SAP and manufacturing vertical practices ground-up at the large India IT conglomerate and grew it to an over USD 500 million business.

Formerly associated with TCS, Ernst & Young and Ashok Leyland, he started his career in the manufacturing industry and has over 27 years of global experience in technology industry.

As the  chairperson  of  ICT  Forum  of  CII  Southern  Region,  he  conceptualised  and  provided direction for the incubation of the ICT Academy – a PPP initiative to improve IT talent pool and employability in India.

He helped in conceptualising the Chennai Aero-park to take advantage of the opportunities in the Aerospace sector. He is also the member of the CII Advisory board for Connect 2011 – the annual flagship programme of CII, Government of Tamil Nadu and the Ministry of Information Technology, Government of India.

Tulsi Naidu – Operations Director UK and Europe, Prudential
Tulsi Naidu was appointed to the Executive Committee of Prudential as operations director in January 2010 with responsibility for customer service, information technology and business change. Tulsi is also responsible for Prudential's India-captive BPO organisation, PPMS.

Naidu joined Prudential in February 2002 in Corporate Development where she worked on a variety of strategic projects including bulk acquisitions from other insurers. She has since held a number of senior management roles within Prudential, including director of mature life and pensions, direct distribution director and corporate pensions director.

Tulsi has previously worked with CSFB, Arthur Andersen and ICICI Bank. She holds an MBA from IIM Ahmedabad and a BA in Mathematics.

Daljit Singh - President, Fortis Healthcare (India) Limited (FHIL)
Daljit Singh is the President, Fortis Healthcare (India) Limited (FHIL). He has over three decades of rich management experience, with a proven track record of turning around and growing diverse businesses through people leadership, innovation and operational excellence.

Prior to his current role, Mr Singh has held the office of the Chief Executive Officer of FHIL till Nov 06.

Before joining FHIL, Mr Singh was the Executive Director in charge of Human Resources, Manufacturing, External Relations and Communications with ICI India Limited. His key experience and achievements have been in the areas of developing progressive HR strategies and ensuring their implementation, organizational restructuring, building a high performance culture and leading teams to deliver business value.

Mr Singh is a trained Executive Coach, working with Senior Management to enhance personal performance and fulfillment. He also leads and facilitates workshops on Strategy & Leadership.
A gold medalist from the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, and Mr. Singh was a Commonwealth Scholar to the Senior Management Programme at the Manchester Business School in 1995.

Anurag Mairal – Director, Global Exchange Programs, Stanford
Anurag Mairal is the director of Global Exchange Programs at Stanford University. In this role, he is responsible for developing an extensive network of partners from the industry, academia, regulatory bodies, and investors in Asia and the US to foster Asia-focused programmes. Further, he facilitates the Global Exchange Program that offers students, faculty and fellows at Stanford the opportunity to work on global needs.

Mairal is the co-founder and executive vice president of Orbees Medical, a consulting firm serving medical device companies in the US, Europe, and Asia. He serves on the boards of several for-profit and non-profit organisations and is a charter member at EPPIC.

Mairal received his Bachelor’s in Engineering from NIT Raipur, a Master’s in Technology from IIT Bombay, and a PhD from the University of Colorado at Boulder. Mairal was also a post-doctoral fellow at the University of Twente, Netherlands and at University of Michigan, Ann Arbor.  Mairal has an MBA from the Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley. At Haas, he was a founding co-chairman of the South Asia Business Conference and chair of the Biotech Panel for the Asia Business Conference. He is also a co-founder of South Asian MBA Association (SAMBAA), a global network of MBAs with interest in South Asia. Mairal has over 20 publications and 7 issued patents.

Bharat Bambawale has more than 27 years of global experience with leading advertising agencies such as Ogilvy & Mather, Lowe and JWT.

He started his career in 1984 as a management trainee at Madura Coats Limited. In 1985, he took up his first advertising role and joined Clarion Advertising as an account trainee after which, he worked with Ogilvy & Mather Advertising as general manager.  In 1993, Bambawale joined Lowe and took up his first overseas role as account leader with Lowe Middle East, North Africa in Dubai. He moved to Bangkok in 2003 to head Lowe’s Asia Pacific Unilever business. After spending 13 years with Lowe, Bambawale joined JWT as global business director in London.
 
In his last assignment with JWT, he headed all Unilever hair brands – leading global teams for Sunsilk, Toni and Guy, Timotei (for Europe) and Lux (for North East Asia). He has also been responsible for turning around brand Knorr for Unilever while at JWT.

Sujata Keshavan Guha is the first Indian woman to obtain a postgraduate degree in Graphic Design. She graduated from Yale University School of Art, USA with an MFA (Master of Fine Art) in Graphic Design in 1987. She had an earlier degree from the six-year programme of the National Institute of Design, Ahmedabad. Besides a full merit scholarship to Yale, Guha has won several awards for her work, including the Eastern Press award and the Schikle Collingwood prize for outstanding work in graphic design.

Guha is the only Indian designer to have been twice honoured as “Graphic Designer of the Year,” in 1992 and 1994, in the all India A&M awards for advertising and design excellence. Ananda Shankar Jayant – Dancer and Choreographer
Ananda Shankar Jayant, with an acclaimed and intense body of work behind her that spans rich mythologies and historical chronicles to searing commentary on gender issues, continues to stretch the outer realms of artistic endeavour, using the grammar, idiom and space-time construct of Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi, making it at once contemporary and communicative. Vijay Nair – Founder of India’s First and Only Record Label “Only Much Louder” (OML)
Vijay Nair started his career with the vague objective of doing ’something’ in the music space. This had unforeseen consequences, including the founding of India’s first independent artist management business.

From approaching bands in pubs in Mumbai with nothing but an idea to taking Pentagram to Glastonbury, arguably the biggest Rock extravaganza in the world, Vijay Nair’s story is one worth listening into. From managing shows and bands, Vijay Nair has tried to build the foundations of a solid music events business in India, garnished with assortments such as a music festivals business, a record label and a production house. A special mention must be made of the NH7 Weekender, a two-day festival with over fifty bands, Indian and International - an unprecedented success that is bringing some much deserved and long overdue limelight to the Indian Music scene.

He was awarded the International Young Music Entrepreneur of the Year in 2009 by the British Council. He hopes to add to the illustrious list of successful entrepreneurs who were college dropouts.

Anumolu Ramakrishna - Ex-President, L & T
Anumolu Ramakrishna served as the president, deputy managing director and advisor at Larsen & Toubro Limited. He also served as the operational head of the engineering construction and contracts division of the company and provided leadership for the construction of scores of cement plants, steel plants, power projects, refineries, petrochemical complexes, bridges, harbours, airports and nuclear power plants internationally.

Ramakrishna has been a director of Ramco Industries Ltd since June 2006. He also serves as a director of International Infrastructure Consultants (P) Limited. He serves as a non-executive independent director of KCP Limited and as an independent director of Emergency Management and Research Institute. He has also served as director in a number of other organisations which include Taj GVK Hotels and Resorts, Andhra Petrochemicals, GVK Industries Limited, GVK Power & Infrastructure Limited and Mumbai International Airport Private Limited.

Ramakrishna holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering and a Master’s in Structural Engineering. He was recognised by Andhra University, which conferred upon him an honorary degree of Doctorate of Science in 1997 and by Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University through an honorary degree of Doctor of Philosophy in 2004.

Sameer Vyas - MD, IL&FS Water Limited
Sameer Vyas is the Managing Director of IL&FS Water Ltd (IWL), and is spearheading the company’s initiatives in the water and waste water sector. He was earlier the Managing Director of New Tirupur Area Development Corporation Limited (NTADCL), and Director of Tamilnadu Water Investment Company (TWIC).

Mr Vyas joined the Indian Administrative Service in 1977, and was assigned to various positions of office in the State of Tamilnadu as well as Government of India. C.

R Sriram’s passion for books was serendipitous and led him to establish bookstores across India –  he started with Landmark in 1988, set up Walden in Hyderabad in 1990 and then the Crossword chain. He co-founded Crossword with K Anita in 1992 and helped build it into India’s leading bookstore chain. He arranged for the buyout of Crossword by the current owners Shoppers’ Stop Ltd in 2000 from the initial investor India Book House Ltd.

Sriram stepped down from Crossword in August 2006 and co-founded Next Practice Retail that offers business design, incubation and consulting services for consumer & retail businesses. Indu Shahani is a well-known name in the academic arena for her unswerving passion for teaching for over three decades. She has been a regular visiting professor and speaker in illustrious universities like NYU Stern and UC Berkley. She is the first Indian woman to be appointed as vice chair on the board of governors of International Baccalaureate – a governing body behind 3000 prestigious schools across the world.

A PhD in Commerce from the University of Mumbai,  Shahani enhances academic-industry linkages through her works and holds key positions as advisory at board levels of various educational bodies in India to strengthen this linkage through academic curriculum for Business and Commerce students.

Pronab Sen – Principal Advisor to the Planning Commission of India
Pronab Sen is currently playing a key role in shaping the 12th five -year plan for the country. He was appointed as the first chief statistician of India, the functional and technical head of the national statistical system in India in 2007 for a period of three years. He was also appointed the dual role of secretary, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation, Government of India (MOSPI).

Sen started his career as a management consultant in Washington DC after which, he moved on to teach at Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore and Delhi School of Economics, Delhi.
